Wonderful fur and microplush at Marshall's

At my Marshall's store today, I found the most wonderful rugs of thick, long, high-quality plush fake fur. I got a black one, but there are numerous animal prints, white, gray and a sort of light tan color. The animal print and black ones were about 18 x 36 inches and $14.99, while the white, gray and tan were about twice that.I think these would be perfect for a short, small run of plush toys or great for making a small puppet. (I got the black one to re-make Ambrose, and use the extra for Spike's wings)
The only drawback is that they are mounted on a sort of ultrasuede backing, obviously for non-slip purposes, but I think a needle is going to go through them just fine. They're simply..a little stiff. All synthetic, though.
I also am all over Smits' idea of looking for microplush blankets. It turns out to be a great deal. Target has neon green, pink and blue for..what was it, Smits? $19 for a full-bed-size blanket? Microplush($13 a yard) is really hard to find at my JoAnn in any colors other than baby colors(I was lucky to find a deep green for Halbag). But looking around in the bedding area at Marshall's, I found several microplush throws in sort of muted colors for $12, and these lovely sort of half fur, half microplush throws with sparkles in the plush for $14.They, too, came in rather muted colors, but I loved the texture and sparkle. There were also FURRY throws, made of shiny, minky-style plush. If there had been more bright and crazy colors I would have snapped upa while pile, but they wre mostly grays and beiges and rust colors. Definitely check it out!
